After doing a lot of research, I have determined that the following elements are key to any weight loss plan:
Calorie reduction. It's simple math: to lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than you burn. It's that simple. While it may be true that calories from vegetables are better for you than calories from junk food, a calorie is a calorie, and the only way to lose weight is burn calories.
Exercise. Again, it's simple math. If you exercise and burn a calorie, you can eat the same number of calories and still lose weight.
Six meals per day. To prevent hunger and to aid in digestion, eat three smaller meals, but add a mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and before bed healthy snack.
Sleep. The body repairs itself while you are sleeping. You can't lose weight if the body doesn't repair itself, so sufficient sleep is essential.
Water. Most diets agree that drinking lots of water not only makes you feel full, so you eat less, but also helps to clean the body out and remove toxins, which aids in weight loss.
