Weight Loss and Television

I had an interesting experience today.  I spent most of the day working in the garden.  After dinner (a healthy one, I might add), I did some work on my computer.  At about 9:00 pm I decided to see if there was anything interesting on television (there wasn’t).

Here’s the interesting part: about one minute after I sat down in front of the TV, I felt hungry.  All day long while I was working, I didn’t feel hungry.  As soon as I sit down and do nothing, my mind has time to think, and I feel hungry.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Perhaps one of the keys to weight loss is to not watch TV.  I think I will try going for a walk, or doing something slightly more active, to see if that takes my mind off my apparent hunger.  The activity, and the not eating in front of the TV, should both help me lose weight.
